My journey with Moms in Prayer began many years ago when my eldest daughter was in kindergarten. Once she started school, I knew there would be many other influences around her. I realized that I had to pray…and not just short, sporadic requests but faithful, serious prayers! So I asked another mother if she wanted to join me. At the time, we didn’t know about Moms in Prayer. We started praying and within three years, the Lord connected us with the Moms in Prayer ministry.
Now 20 years later, I am a witness that God answers prayer and has performed miracles in the lives of my children, and for children and schools throughout Europe. It all started with one group and today thousands of mothers are praying! “He took him outside and said, ‘Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.’ Then he said to him, ‘So shall your offspring be.’ Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.” Genesis 15:5-6 (NIV) Pray that the Lord will guide the Europe team as we share the ministry vision with others and continue to build strong Moms in Prayer groups.
From an early age I attended prayer services with my parents. This was a hard time in Moldova when Christians were persecuted. But my parents were persistent in this decision. The time came when the Lord sent me a husband and children and emphasized the meaning of prayer for their lives. I started a Moms in Prayer group at my church. Recently, we celebrated 20 years of moms gathering to pray at this same church! God blessed us and gave us strength to move forward, despite hardships in life. This ministry brings joy and gives energy, and I know that our Lord is praised! I enjoy gathering mothers to pray in different cities and now countries in Eastern Europe, sharing this hope from God. Because He placed me here to do His work, He will be faithful to change the lives of mothers, children and schools through Moms in Prayer. I pray that God will give me wisdom and obedience and help me to be a blessing to many mothers.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
In 1997 I discovered Moms in Prayer International. Soon I contacted a mom to pray with me and to this day, the two of us plus two other moms, still pray together in a Moms in Prayer group. All these years in this group have changed my prayer life. God brought others to encourage me and they helped me to one day say “yes” to stepping into the Country Coordinator role for Norway.
Working as a country coordinator allowed me to meet moms who were heartbroken for their children. Then to see how blessed they were when we prayed with them for their children. This caused me to want to share this ministry with others so that they too would be blessed by praying together with other moms.
When asked to pray about the regional director role for Scandinavia, the Lord led me to 1 Chronicles 28:10, “Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work.” I will trust in God’s direction and therefore I can go forward with boldness.
My prayer now is that God will multiply Moms in Prayer groups in the Northern Europe countries of Iceland, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark, including the Faroe and Åland Islands. I look forward to watching God’s work in these countries and to meet moms who want to come to our Heavenly Father in prayer for their children and schools.
