I first heard about Moms in Prayer when my youngest was starting kindergarten. It was the first year in public school and everything was scary. A neighbor invited me to join a group and I’ve been involved ever since.

I’ve been married to Darrell for thirty-five years and we have two children, Matthew 30 and Lauren 28. Darrell and I are enjoying being empty-nesters. One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is quilt with my friend I met through Moms in Prayer. I also like sitting by the ocean and soaking in God’s majesty.

Philippians 4:6-7 has been my favorite Bible verse for years. I know that this is God’s reminder to no longer be the anxious person I used to be!

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
