Our daughter attended a wonderful Christian school for her kindergarten and first grade years. The following year, due to financial reasons, we had to enroll her in a public school in our neighborhood. Little did I know how God was orchestrating those events to introduce me to Moms in Prayer!
When we pulled up to her new school on the first day, my daughter Lindsay started getting nervous. As we got out of the car and I tried to reassure her, a good friend walked up to us who I didn’t know had kids at the same school. After making sure Lindsay was okay, this friend invited me to join a group of moms who met to pray for their kids and the school. I attended the prayer group and I was hooked. Now, 28 years later, I’m still praying in a Moms in Prayer group!
God has used this ministry to change my life and my family’s lives. I pray in both career and grandmothers groups. My faith in the Lord is stronger and He has given me a love for prayer. It’s a joy to gather with like-minded women on a weekly basis to cover our kids and grandkids in prayer. I’ve also had the privilege of traveling to Ethiopia and Rwanda to share Moms in Prayer. I’ve learned that moms’ hearts are the same no matter where you live and that this ministry teaches us how to pray effectively and fervently.
My husband, Larry, and I will celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary this year. We have a son and a daughter. Our daughter has been married to a wonderful Christian man for 10 years and they have three children. I love to read, take walks on the beach, go to Jazzercise and hang out with my family and friends. My life verse is Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
