I am especially grateful for the friend who invited me to join her in starting a Moms in Prayer group when my older son David was a senior in high school. He had been accepted at Auburn University and would be going 850 miles away from home to a major university where he knew no one. The ladies in the group joined me in fervently praying for a Christian roommate who would be an accountability partner for David. God answered that prayer abundantly more than all we asked or imagined! On arrival at campus, I discovered David’s roommate John from FL, was not only a Christian, but his mother joined a Moms in Prayer group at the same time I did and had also been praying for a Christian roommate for her son! The young men became close friends and partners in ministry throughout their college years. Eighteen years later, David and John remain godly men and close friends.
John’s mother and I had the opportunity to share this testimony on a Moms in Prayer/e3 Partners mission trip to Venezuela in 2008 and I have since become the Country Helper to Venezuela, having traveled there 7 additional times to share the ministry. I have served on the Moms in Prayer PA State Team for 2 years and accepted the position of SC in October 2015. This seems a good fit because I love PA where I grew up and I love the Moms in Prayer ministry in which I have the privilege of praying with other moms and grandmothers for our children, grandchildren and their schools.
My husband Ken and I have been married for 40 years. During those years we have lived in FL, AL, MS, CT and then 23 years ago we moved to my hometown of Manchester, PA. Our older son David, is married to Robin and they have 3 children. Our younger son Brian is a Spanish teacher in Auburn, AL and is married to Amy. They have one daughter.
My favorite Scripture is Isaiah 26:3-4: The steadfast of mind, You will keep in perfect peace because they trust in You. Trust in the Lord forever for in God, the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock.
