Mid Atlantic Division Coordinator, Barbara Cole

Pour out your heart like water . . . for the lives of your children!

The Mid-Atlantic States of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland, including Washington, DC, played a significant role in the founding of our nation. God has an even more significant role for moms in these states to engage in the spiritual battle for the hearts and lives of our children. Lamentations 2:19 calls us to “Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at every street corner.” Many children today are fainting not only from physical hunger, but are starving for the spiritual food their souls desperately need.

Whether you are a young mom, a grandmother or a spiritual mom with no children of your own, I want to connect you with other women who are meeting regularly for one hour to pray for their children and schools. Our prayers impact the lives of our children and future generations for Christ. Will you intercede for children and schools by joining or starting a Moms in Prayer Group? Together, through the power of prayer, we will see God position praying moms to cover every school in the Mid-Atlantic!
Joyfully His, Barb

My Moms in Prayer Story

I am grateful for the friend who invited me to join her in starting a Moms in Prayer group when my son, David, was preparing to attend Auburn University, 850 miles away in Alabama. The ladies joined me in praying for a Christian roommate for him. God not only answered our prayers, but also the prayers of John’s mother in Florida who had been praying for her son’s roommate at the same time (in a Moms in Prayer group)! Our sons remain godly men and friends 23 years later. John’s mother and I had the opportunity to share this testimony on a mission trip to Venezuela in 2008. Because of several other mission trips, I also serve as a Country Helper to several Caribbean Islands for Moms in Prayer.

Ken and I live in south central Pennsylvania and have been married for 45 years. We are currently serving in a local Dinner Church known as Common Ground. We have two grown sons, two daughters-in-love, and four grandchildren. I enjoy reading, mentoring women and children in their Christian faith, and praying for my grown children and grandchildren.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23 (NIV)

What’s your Moms in Prayer story? I would love to hear it! If you don’t have one yet, make sure to connect with a Moms in Prayer group now.
