Missouri State Coordinator, Carla Morgan

Our prayers are so powerful! Not because of who we are or how we pray, but because of Who we pray to! We are invited to lift every care and concern to our All-Powerful and All-Loving Heavenly Father!

We have a God-sized vision—every school in Missouri covered in prayer. God invites us to join Him in the work He is doing for revival and spiritual awakening in the schools and lives of students in Missouri. What can you do? Pray and invite others to pray.

My prayer for you is that you see God’s tender love as He surprises you with His many varied answers to prayer for your own children and the students and schools! And, if you are like me, to see how God is shaping and growing you through this adventure of prayer.

I would love to hear from you. If you’re not in a Moms in Prayer group yet, you need to get connected! Experience another mom praying for your child and the joy of seeing God at work in your child’s school.

My Moms in Prayer Story

My Moms in Prayer adventure started in 2002 when my first child was entering kindergarten. The concerns and burdens about the school year were many, but great blessing and joy awaited me as I joined a prayer group for the local school. Throughout my adventure, I have been overwhelmed by the privilege of praying with other moms and seeing how God is faithful and good! There are days I go to the prayer time frazzled and worried, but come home with God’s peace and assurance that everything is in His hands because He loves and cares about these children far beyond what I am capable of.

When my daughter was getting ready for Kindergarten, we had to decide to send her or hold her back one year since her birthday was right on the cut off date. I prayed with my Moms in Prayer (MIP) group. God confirmed His answer three different times! One in talking with her preschool teacher, a second time with her Sunday School teacher, and finally in a conversation with my sister-in-law. I was a little sad that by holding her back she would not be with her friends from preschool. After more prayer with my MIP group, God gave us another confirmation and gift. Her best friend’s parents had made the opposite decision from ours and sent their daughter to Kindergarten. After just a couple of weeks, they realized this was not best for her and pulled her out. This meant that my daughter and her friend both waited another year and started Kindergarten together and they are still great friends today!

My husband, Lionel, and I married in 1986 and are blessed with two wonderful children, Ben and Amy. Ben works as a chemist in a lab in Columbia after graduating from Mizzou in May 2019. Amy is pursing degrees in Elementary Education and Spanish at Rockhurst University in Kansas City. I love spending time with my family and enjoying the beauty and diversity of God’s creation.

What’s your Moms in Prayer story? I would love to hear it! If you don’t have one yet, make sure to connect with a Moms in Prayer group now.
