My Moms in Prayer adventure started in 2002 when my first child was entering kindergarten. The concerns and burdens about the school year were many, but great blessing and joy awaited me as I joined a prayer group for my local school.

Throughout my adventure, I have been overwhelmed by the privilege of praying with and for other moms and seeing how God is so faithful and good! He has answered many prayers and given me much peace. Many times I have pushed myself to get to a Moms in Prayer meeting, but there has never been a time when I wasn’t thankful that I attended. There were days I went to the prayer time frazzled and worried, but came home with God’s peace and assurance that everything is in His hands because He loves and cares about these children far beyond what I am capable of.

I believe there is a common lie of the enemy that tries to get us to believe that God is just asking us to do one more thing we don’t have time for. The reality is that God wants to give us something. He wants to bless us with His peace and assurance and answers to our prayers!

My husband, Lionel, and I married in 1986, and we are blessed with two wonderful children, Ben and Amy. God is guiding us through a new life phase of college, approaching empty nest, and retirement. I love spending time with my family and enjoying the beauty and diversity of God’s creation.

One of my favorite verses is Deuteronomy 31:8,“The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (NIV)
