Hello Iowa Moms!

I believe God is on the move here in our state. As mothers and grandmothers, we have the privilege to partner with Him through prayer—seeking His heart for our children and their schools. Ephesians 6 reminds us that our kids face more than just everyday struggles—they’re in a spiritual battle. But when we gather and pray in unity, God moves powerfully on their behalf and pushes back the darkness.

I truly hope that as you’re reading this, you’ll feel the same tug on your heart that I did when I first joined Moms in Prayer. We weren’t meant to walk this road alone. God calls us to stand together, pray together, and fight for the next generation.

I’d love to help you find a group, or even start one, so you can experience the peace, strength, and hope that comes when we pray together. Let’s not miss what God is doing in Iowa!

My Moms in Prayer Story

I first heard about Moms in Prayer at a MOPS meeting, back when all my children were still young. At the time, I didn’t join a group, but a few years later something changed. A wonderful Moms in Prayer sister, Lee Nienhuis, came through our area sharing about her book Brave Moms, Brave Kids. As she spoke, I was deeply moved by her message about the importance of praying bold, brave prayers for our children. She emphasized the power of praying Scripture and I could feel the Holy Spirit tugging at my heart—it was time to join a Moms in Prayer group.

Until then, I had been praying briefly for my kids each morning as they headed off to school. But after joining a group, my prayers began to take on a new depth. I’m so grateful for the consistency, encouragement, and spiritual growth that comes from that dedicated hour of prayer each week with other moms.

I’ve been married to my husband, Travis, for 20 years and we have five children between the ages of 6 and 18 who keep life full and joyful.
