Years ago, when questioning God as to what I could do as a mom with a busy toddler and a son in grade school, I clearly heard, “pray.” Later, when I discovered Moms in Prayer on a broadcast of Focus on the Family, I contacted the ministry for information and soon received a call from the Washington state coordinator, who encouraged me to start a group. With her encouragement and the Holy Spirit’s help, I was soon co-leading groups for both my son, who was by then in middle school, and for my daughter, who was starting kindergarten. God is so good. He answered two specific prayers at the very beginning, giving my daughter a Christian teacher, and giving my son courage to ask questions in class. I soon found, though, that the best thing about Moms in Prayer was something I had heard echoed by other moms—God’s gift of a closer relationship with Himself.
After a year of leading my groups, I became an area coordinator. Then, in 2004, I filled the position of regional coordinator for SE Washington, and in 2007 became the state coordinator. One of my favorite verses is Isaiah 12:2, “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For YAH, the LORD, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’” He is my Forza di Vita, my Strength of Life!
My husband, Don, and I have been married since 1972. Don is retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers but loves to work with his hunting and field trial competition dogs. We have two adult children. Elizabeth lives and works here in Walla Walla. Our son Eric, his wife Patricia and their son Felix, currently live in Yokosuka, Japan. I am so thankful for the moms who pray faithfully for my children. God is working! And God is good—ALL the time!
