Illinois State Coordinator, Kelly Slavik

Do you know how VALUABLE you are?

The angels in heaven are rejoicing because the ministry of Moms in Prayer is alive and well in Illinois! I am a Minooka-Illinois mom of five, ages elementary to high school. My tribe includes a set of twins and a child with autism, and this will be my 9th year praying with Moms in Prayer. I am honored and humbled to be your new Illinois state coordinator and I am asking you to expect BIG answers to our prayers–because we serve a mighty, BIG God!

Let’s impact Illinois’ children and schools for Jesus by gathering mothers to pray! My goal for IL moms is focused outreach. Sometimes, all it takes is a simple invitation and the seeking begins! See our Invites that you can share with another mom.

Abundant Blessings,
Kelly

My Moms in Prayer Story

I didn’t find Moms in Prayer. The ministry of Moms in Prayer found me!

I was in the midst of a spiritual fast and prayer vigil for a three-month-old baby girl named Molly Mae. Molly was born with a rare brain cancer, and in the end, the Lord brought her to heaven to be made whole again. It was during this time of spiritual reflection that the Lord opened the doors to Moms in Prayer, and I stepped through them.

A close friend, who was also praying for baby Molly, received an email from another local mom. The invitation was for prayer time in her home focusing on our local school district. Due to a previous commitment to her church, my friend couldn’t attend and passed the invitation on to me. I eagerly accepted the invite and have been praying with Moms in Prayer ever since.

My husband and I have been married since May of 2003. We have five children. I love chocolate, birds, watching my kids play sports and spending time with loved ones.

May God encourage you through this scripture verse that prompts us to pray and seek Him with all our hearts:  “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for me with all your heart.”  Jeremiah 29:12-13 (NKJV)

What’s your Moms in Prayer story? I would love to hear it! If you don’t have one yet, make sure to connect with a Moms in Prayer group now.
