Oklahoma State Coordinator, Sarah Cochran

Get ready, your territory will extend! This is from a promise God gave to Joshua, as he stood on the bank of the Jordan River, ready to take the Israelites into the Promised Land. As Oklahoma’s State Coordinator for Moms in Prayer, I too, am ready to see God extend our Moms in Prayer (MIP) territory throughout our state. We have several groups and leaders in place, but I know our God is ABLE to grow this ministry so that every school in Oklahoma is covered by a MIP group. As we pray for this generation using scriptures, they, like the generation of Israelites, will be victorious!

It is my desire that every mom would know the true character of God and be confident that her prayers are heard and make a difference. Will you join me to Pause 2 Pray every day at 2PM, asking God to raise up two praying moms for every school in Oklahoma?

I would love to hear from you. If you’re not in a Moms in Prayer group yet, you need to get connected! Experience another mom praying for your child and the joy of seeing God at work in your child’s school.

My Moms in Prayer Story

My Moms in Prayer story began eight years ago when our family moved to Oklahoma from out of state. At the same time, my husband and I were sending our only son to school for the first time. I was anxious and lonely. I knew my son was experiencing those same emotions because every morning when dropping him off at school, he had tears running down his cheeks.

I began praying that God would provide comfort and friendship, not only for my son, but for me as well. I remembered hearing about the Moms in Prayer ministry (MIP) from a MOPS group I had previously attended. Right then, God urged me to start a MIP group for my son’s new school. Through both God’s strength and goodness, a group formed and continues to meet today. And God answered my prayers, with comfort and friendship for both me and my son!

MIP has enriched my prayer life by helping me get to know the true character of God. By praising Him each week in prayer for His many attributes, my faith has grown stronger and my trust in Him has gone deeper. As a result, my prayers have become bolder. “The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.” Isaiah 9:7b

I am married to Todd and we have one teenage son, Brady. I enjoy traveling with my family, watching our son play tennis, being a fitness instructor for senior adults, reading, and drinking coffee.
