I love the Moms in Prayer twitter hashtag, #MomsPowerPrayers. It gives words to the blessing of this ministry which I’ve experienced for over 20 years both as a mom and as a teacher in public and Christian schools. As moms across our state and around the world breathe Spirit–filled prayers, lives change, school climates change, and we as moms change by God’s power!
Through these years of being both a recipient and a participant in #MomsPowerPrayers, I’ve learned that these powerful prayers are both Scriptural and specific. Timothy Keller in his book Prayer put it this way, “God’s words, however, cannot fail their purposes because, for God, speaking and acting are the same thing.” Praying in Moms in Prayer has equipped me to wield the sword of God’s Word in praise and prayer. And oh, how we need those sharpened swords against the army of invisible foes we face that seek to deceive, ensnare, and ruin the lives of our children.
As a mom of two adult daughters, I can truly say I’ve experienced the words of my favorite go-to Scripture in our family, “As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.” Job 19:21 NASB
