Despite becoming a Christian as a child, marrying my wonderful, godly husband in 1987, and raising our two children centered around Jesus and serving Him, the enemy brought darkness into our family which introduced parenting challenges that we never would have imagined!
In the summer of 2013, I longed for a place to rest, to recharge, a place to pray with women who could understand my burdened heart. I received an email announcing “Come to Me” at The Cove, a 3-day Moms in Prayer retreat. It was a miraculous answer to prayer. I rode with two other MS moms to Ashville, NC. An immediate bond was formed on that 18-hour roundtrip. I came home renewed, my darkness turning to light as I started my first Moms in Prayer group at my son’s Christian school.
God opened my eyes to amazing truths about myself and about His character and promises. My prayer life became stronger and more focused than ever before. The rest is history. In 2014 I followed God’s lead in becoming an area coordinator and now, in 2017, having deepened my desire for all children to have the opportunity to be prayed for, He has prepared me to serve as Mississippi’s first state coordinator.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling to beaches and mountains, trying new foods, and making new friends. I have surely learned to “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in ALL circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. What better place is there to be than in the middle of God’s perfect will, even if it means remaining in the storm!
