Mississippi State Coordinator, Teresa Newcomer

Holy Spirit, Flow Throughout Mississippi!

When I became Mississippi’s State Coordinator, God let me know that He had a plan and the perfect timing for developing prayer groups throughout the state. He encouraged me through His promise in Isaiah 60:22, “The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly.”

My Moms in Prayer church group witnessed a powerful answer to prayer for my son. He had transferred to an out of state university and although he found a great church, joined a Bible study and seemed to be making friends, he didn’t feel completely at home. He also struggled with dyslexia and staying on task. After returning second semester, he wanted to drop out and come home because he didn’t like a few of his classes. Before he called me, I had selected God is Understanding as our group’s attribute for the week. My group prayed for a family conference call my husband and I were to have with him that night. Through a meeting with his advisor the next day, God helped our son become comfortable with staying at school.

Moms, grandmothers, women of prayer, His plan includes you! God’s perfect timing is now as He draws more women to pray for children and schools in our 82 counties. God calls us to pray for the salvation of the next generation, our world and spiritual leaders of tomorrow. How awesome is it to know that God wants to use us to bring an entire generation to Him and to revive the hearts of believers living out their faith among their student and teacher peers!

I would love to hear from you. If you’re not in a Moms in Prayer group yet, you need to get connected! Experience another mom praying for your child and the joy of seeing God at work in your child’s school.

My Moms in Prayer Story

God worked swiftly in my heart to become involved in Moms in Prayer. I was invited to visit a group for my son’s school. It was a year later before my schedule allowed me to be involved as a leader. I soon became an area coordinator, praying for schools in my area and helping moms start groups for those schools. I was then asked to be Mississippi’s first state coordinator. Being involved in a Moms in Prayer group has grown my faith, strengthened my resolve to persevere and taught me how to stand unshaken in life’s many storms. Prayer provides hope, offering me a spiritual weapon that is sharpened weekly as I meet with other prayer warriors battling for the souls of their children. Our groups have witnessed God bring light to darkness, clarity to confusion, and purpose to our children’s lives.

I am blessed to share life with Will, my husband of 33 years. We are the proud parents of a young adult daughter and a son in college.

For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. 1 Timothy 4:4-5 (ESV)
