Northern California State Coordinator, Fern Johnson

Jesus reigns over Northern California!

This is a land that belongs to God and that He dearly loves! My heart is stirred within me with a passion to see the spiritual soil here in Northern California tilled so that the hearts and minds of this next generation are won for Christ through us praying moms!

Cherie Beuse passed onto me the word “momentum” when I took on her state coordinator baton for Northern California. May we praying moms move out in His strength with momentum as we labor for Him, working His harvest field and seeing the fruit of our efforts. May the Lord establish and bless the work of our hands for His glory here in Northern California! I am also praying that the Lord would unhinder busy moms so that they can stand in the gap and pray one-accord prayers in agreement with other like-minded sisters in Christ for their children.

I believe this is God’s Word over Northern California out of Ezekiel 36:9, “For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you will be cultivated and sown.” Amen!

My Moms in Prayer Story

Like Timothy in the Word, I grew up with a spiritual inheritance from the sincere faith of the generations before me: a praying grandmother and mother. I thank God for that. Back in 2018, I started with Moms in Prayer when my kids were both in public elementary school. My husband and I decided to homeschool them for their middle and high school years, but I was still able to prioritize prayer by gathering weekly with a Moms in Prayer group to share prayer burdens for my kids. I watched as the Lord answered those prayers week after week.

I want to encourage moms with young children and homeschool moms, especially, that you can devote an hour a week to the important assignment and responsibility that the Lord has given us to cover our children in prayer. In the day and age that we live in, our children desperately need our prayers. Moms, you don’t have to swim upstream alone against the cultural currents of spiritual unrest, rather, rise up and stand arm in arm with intercessory sisters in Christ that the Lord has placed around your area to help hold your hands up in prayer, like Aaron & Hur did for Moses.

My husband, Kent, and I have a heart for Northern California and we believe that the Lord has placed us here for such a time as this. We are so grateful to raise our two daughters near Yosemite, a place that’s near and dear to our family.

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13 NIV
