Middle and High School students praying on campus

How God is Answering Prayer for Students & Schools

Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy—dwell on these things. Philippians 4:8 CSB

Naples, Florida Christian School

The principal at this school posted online recently, “While walking the campus today, I happened upon the Moms in Prayer meeting. The ladies asked if they could pray over me. It was a revival of the soul. The amazing prayers and presence of God was a testament to the godliness of our partners that is so appreciated. To know that the staff, teachers & administration are prayed over weekly in this manner is humbling.”

High School students at a school in Iowa were able to get approval for prayer and devotions before team football dinners after a long uphill battle.

In West Virginia last year, 500 Bibles were given out and 1,200 students weekly attended FCA meetings. There were over 130 first time decisions for Christ. This year, for the first time, all 19 middle & high schools in a three-county area will have FCA groups.

They are on pace to have over 1,600 students attending FCA weekly.

A high school in another area of West Virginia had a voluntary Bible club meeting this school year and 77 students made decisions for Christ. The school counselor has reached out to the area FCA representative to come and start clubs there. “What God is doing here in WV through FCA; We’re humbled and so thankful to watch Him work through our prayers!” —Susan Boland, Moms in Prayer West Virginia State Coordinator

In another state, after five years of praying in their Moms in Prayer group for an FCA club to start at a local high school, one has started this year. Weekly attendance is around 100 students!

Teachers in Prayer

A Teachers in Prayer group at a public high school in South Texas teamed up with the Moms in Prayer group praying for this school. These teachers received permission from the administration to prayer-walk the campus with the MIP group and any other community members, the Friday before classes began. Teachers were encouraged to meet the moms that join together weekly to pray for them, the students who attended were inspired by hearing their teachers pray, and moms new to Moms in Prayer discovered there was a group meeting weekly for the school!

Claim Your Campus (CYC)

This ministry calls students to pray weekly at middle and high schools in America.

Sydney, a student who attends high school, wanted to start a prayer meeting on her campus. For weeks, she was the only one attending the meetings, but she continued praying. Now, that meeting includes 10-15 students and Sydney has led two of her friends to Christ.

CYC’s current goal is to prayer-walk every middle and high school in the USA capital cities. In Kansas City alone, 250 schools were prayer-walked in one week. During these prayer walks, they’ve also noticed that some teachers and counselors walking through the parking lot have asked for prayer.

Santa Barbara, California

A first-year high school teacher started praying with a Moms in Prayer group for this previously uncovered Christian school. “We prayed for the senior retreat and 85% of the students gave their hearts to Christ or rededicated their lives to Him.”

Inner City Public Schools

A Christian church denomination across New Jersey is having a “go out and seek the lost” campaign where they go into the inner cities and share the gospel. Some members have been able to enter the public inner-city schools and have assemblies for the students.

Praying with Athletes

A Moms in Prayer group leader’s husband helps with middle & high school faith clubs where he makes connections, disciples students, and prays with athletes. At football games, he is on the sidelines talking with players who are injured. “At one game, a football player who was Muslim was sitting on the bench and started talking with my husband.

The player said, ‘I’m kind of interested in Christianity. I have a friend who is Christian.’ Right there, my husband led him to the Lord.”

This same football player now attends a small church in the area. He has been on two mission trips, ministers to students, and serves at youth group.

Christian Middle School

“Our Moms in Prayer group prayed for a new student who started a few weeks ago and now she has acclimated, has made friends, and is doing great! We also prayed for our students who went to camp, for safety and that God would do a work in their hearts. Several of them decided to get baptized! For teachers and staff members, each week we choose 2-3 and send prayer sheets that include a verse and words of encouragement, which has made a huge impact! We are also seeing answers to prayer with our own kids and their behavior at home and school. God is faithful!— Michelle, MIP Group Leader
