New Mexico State Coordinator, Aly Jefferson

Thank you for considering this noble call to pray for the children and schools of New Mexico. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” God’s word calls us to first rejoice! What a wonderful thing to rejoice in the future of New Mexico through prayer for our children and grandchildren. I would love to help you get connected to a Moms in Prayer group or train you to start your own with the goal of covering every school in prayer.

My Moms in Prayer Story

My precious neighbor first told me about Moms in Prayer in Texas in 2012. This was the first time I learned that I could pray scriptural truths over my children. I was introduced to the Four Steps of Prayer when my oldest was just starting kindergarten and youngest was in preschool. Through weekly prayer, I found deep community that I desperately needed, especially in those early years of school. I also developed connections with other women in my community, finding support as my husband and I were parenting in an unfamiliar state. In 2016, God moved our family to New Mexico and I started a Moms in Prayer Group that has been going ever since. Following the legacy of my mother-in-law praying in New Mexico, I continued to pray for a new generation. I’ve witnessed God’s transforming power lead my boys in their walks with God and I see them developing godly characteristics.

My husband, Tyler, and I have been married for 21 years and we have two high school aged boys. Living in Albuquerque, we enjoy walking, hiking, and skiing. Both boys are actively involved in the youth program at our church and in sports, all while attending our local public high school. I find so much comfort in praying truths over our boys as they are developing into young men; weekly entrusting them through Moms in Prayer to a loving, caring God, who wants us to know Him more intimately.
