Oregon State Coordinator, Kerry Reeder

Dear praying moms in Oregon, welcome! If you are wanting to connect with other women who know Christ and have a heart for prayer, then you’re in the right place. It is such a blessing to pray with other women and watch God move in amazing ways in the lives of our children and in their schools.

I look forward to seeing more moms encouraged and more children blessed as we increase the number of schools covered in prayer in our state. In sharing our testimonies and inviting women to join us in prayer, God ministers through us to bless others. In the process, we experience renewed hope, encouragement, and spiritual growth.

One of my goals is to reach out to women in the more remote areas of our state and invite them to join us in covering our schools in prayer. I also want to encourage group leaders to think creatively and seek the Lord about how to make their groups sustainable with the changing seasons of our lives.

My Moms in Prayer Story

I first heard about Moms in Prayer from a woman at church. I had to put my children in public school for the first time after years of homeschooling, and I was feeling defeated. I began praying with a group of women who had children attending our local high school. These women quickly became supportive sisters in Christ who stood by me and prayed with me as one of my children went through some incredible struggles. In time, we celebrated victory together as we saw God do amazing things and transform the life of my child.

Later, I began leading my own group at church. Over the years, this group has changed in size and membership with homeschool moms, public school moms, mothers of college students, and mothers of preschoolers. What I love most about Moms In Prayer is that as I connect and pray with sweet sisters in Christ, I get the opportunity to grow spiritually and experience God’s blessings. One of my favorite verses I want to share with you, sisters in Christ, is Romans 12:12: Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
